Magpies last game of the season saw a strong ON’s team take a 3 goal lead at half time despite some gritty defending and a couple of saves from Connor. Magpies tactical changes at half time balanced the match despite losing 5-1 with Elliot scoring a late consolation goal. A enjoyable season and well done to the team.
ON Chenecks v Moulton Magpies By Simon Nicklin | Thursday 5th April 2012 Strong win for ON's against a challenging Moulton team. A strong all round performance from ON's driving high up the pitch and defending well. ON's opened early with Ollie S finishing on 5 from a Tijan flick. Ollie came close again with a 20 yard stike which rattled the bar, then on 15 Dylan stuck home from some great work by Tyrell and Luke combined from the right.
On 25 Jack broke away and finished coolly, thanks to some great work by Nathan releasing an early ball from a well caught free-kick. Great vision form the keeper.
Second half ON's pressed, but Moulton continued to battle, but on 38 mins sean finished from a tijan pass to go 4-0 infront. Then only 3 mins later Tijan breaks away, round the keeper and finishes with ease.
Moulten continued to press and Ben was forced in to making a superb clearance, and Luke pulled off a magnificent tackle to maintain ON's dominance.
On 65 Moulton's efforts were rewarded with a consolation goal, but overall a great team performance by ON's with Luke performing his defensive duties with aplomb. Jack and Sean both had strong games and contributed to some strong team play all round.
