 truly tense final with both sides evenly matched.  Magpies started quickly and went at Rothwell from the start.  Both sides created chances but it was Magpies who saw 2 chances cleared off the Rothwell line. There was some excellent defending from the Magpies in the first half to limit Rothwell to long distance shooting, which Kirsty was more than a match for. HT 0-0.  The second half saw Rothwell apply some pressure as the Magpies found themselves pegged back.  The pressure told and a Rothwell scored and 5 minutes later it was 2-0 when Rothwell scored from a corner. With 10 minutes remaining Magpies got back into the game when Abbie finished well and with renewed belief the Magpies had Rothwell under pressure going close on several occasions, to no avail.  FT 2-1.  Well played both sets of girls a good game to watch and an excellent final.
